Top 5 London Events Best Suited for a Chauffeur Service

London is recognised as one of the world’s great cities and is host to some of the most prestigious international events in the culture, fashion, business and sporting calendars.

For attendees, arriving in a chauffeur-driven car is virtually mandatory. Here are five major occasions on which the use of a chauffeur service is a must.

The Royal Ascot

More than a horse racing fixture, Royal Ascot is a heritage event where the best of British spectacle and tradition are on show to the world.

Thousands of guests, including celebrities, royalty and giants of industry, descend on the racecourse to experience the spectacle, enjoy the hospitality and make the most of the photo opportunities. A chauffeur not only provides a wonderfully comfortable journey to the venue but also measures up to the elegance of the occasion.

Wimbledon Championships

Of the four tennis Grand Slams, Wimbledon is the oldest and the only one played on grass. These two unique qualities contribute to the international prestige of this South West London event.

Television coverage routinely includes shots of the rich and famous, who clearly didn’t travel there by public transport. Instead, thousands of chauffeur-driven cars make the journey to and from the All England Club every year throughout the two weeks of the greatest tournament in world tennis.

The Proms at the Royal Albert Hall

This unique music event was founded in 1895, and for eight weeks each summer, music lovers from all over the world flock to the Royal Albert Hall.

Although there are now more than a dozen Proms concerts held as far from the capital as Sunderland and Belfast, London remains the centre of the season, with over 70 concerts.

The first and last nights are probably the most popular dates and the ones which attract the biggest attendance of the great and the good.

However, since the Albert Hall is in the heart of South Kensington, the only appropriate way for VIPs to arrive is in a chauffeur-driven BMW, Mercedes or Range Rover.

London Fashion Week

Together with Paris, Milan and New York, London is one of the Big Four fashion capitals. London Fashion Week is held every other year at venues including the British Fashion Council’s headquarters in The Strand, Somerset House, Tate Britain and the Cheesegrater in Leadenhall St.

It captures the attention of the world’s media for the five days of events as well as during the lengthy build-up. Since almost all the venues are in central London, the only sensible access for VIPs is a chauffeur service.

The BAFTAs

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards ceremony commands huge attention and exerts enormous influence both in the film industry and among cinema-goers.

Anyone lucky enough to be invited has a ticket to one of the most important cultural events in the London calendar. It’s a night of celebration, style and glamour, with celebrities and industry professionals enjoying the excitement, hospitality and public exposure.

Since 2023, the BAFTA awards have been hosted at the Royal Festival Hall. Guests walk the red carpet into the venue, and an indispensable part of this highly theatrical arrival is to be seen stepping out of a chauffeur driven car.
